Event description

Living Loops workshop hosted by Phil Garozzo of Loop Growers

Learn how to preserve and build soil life through conscious consumption and waste reduction.

During this Living Loops edition, we will discuss how to modify our own habits to reinforce community and regeneration, with a focus on composting systems.

The day will be broken down into two parts;

Introduction to Living Loops
 (8am - 12pm)

We will tour around the farm while discussing each of our various composting methods. This is a great chance to ask any compost related questions you may have, whether it's about bettering your current systems or new ones you would like to implement.

You will learn compost basics on our large scale compost and worm system and how this can be used to close a number of living loops.

Community Lunch
 (12pm - 2:00pm)

Attendees from both sessions are invited to share lunch and learn from each other.  A range of dishes from both Loop grown produce and local farmers will be provided. Please let us know of dietary requirements.

Foundational Compost Intensive - *Optional Workshop
(2:00pm - 5pm)

For those who are interested in taking their compost knowledge to the next level, stick around for a few more hours in the arvo to dive deeper into the magic of compost.

We will cover;
> Ecology (Creek, pastures, hedges)
> Intention setting
> Yield identification and relationship creation
> Preparing and working with Yields
> More methods of composting at home (Bokashi/Larve Farms/Hugael kultur)
> Medium to large scale Worm Farming
> Working with Livestock
Thermophilic Compost (theory/observation/build)

You will not only leave with a deeper understanding of the loops surrounding us, but you will get to take home everything to get your living loops system set up at home - Compost mother, yield labels, workbook

*The Foundational Compost Intensive is a deeper dive into composting practices. This workshop is open to those attending the Introduction to Living Loops or for anyone who has attended a Loop Growers farm tour in the past. 15 places only.

We understand that finances can be a barrier to access these events, so we have a handful of tickets available for those who might not be able to cover the full cost of attending - please email events@loopgrowers.com

We acknowledge that we gather and grow on stolen land and pay our respects to all those who came before us. Our hope is to leave this land stronger and more resilient than when we came.
