Embodied Yoga

Living the Yoga Sutra | A 3-Day Immersive Retreat

Join us at the Art Sanctuary for three immersive days of Embodied Yoga, movement, breath and self-inquiry, exploring the teachings of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras through direct experience.

Rather than approaching yoga philosophy as something to simply study or understand intellectually, this retreat invites you to feel it through the body.

What to expect

Across the three days, we’ll explore the Yoga Sutras alongside circular and spiralling movement, embodied pranayama, meditation and the devotional Embodied Durga Flow. Through sensory awareness, breath exploration, shaking, mindful movement and partner practices, we’ll develop a deeper relationship with the body and its innate intelligence.

The emphasis is not on achieving the “right” posture, controlling the breath or perfecting a technique. Instead, we’ll cultivate curiosity, presence, responsiveness and the ability to listen from within.

Set within the natural surrounds of the Art Sanctuary, this is an opportunity to slow down, reconnect and experience yoga as a living practice — where philosophy becomes felt experience, movement becomes inquiry, and awareness becomes the teacher.

Over three days, you’ll explore:

  • Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras through an embodied lens

  • Circular and spiralling movement practices

  • Breath awareness and whole-body breathing

  • Embodied pranayama without force or striving

  • Partner practices for developing sensory awareness

  • The relationship between breath, movement and presence

  • Embodied Durga Flow — cultivating strength, courage, compassion and groundedness

  • Meditation, reflection and self-inquiry

The body becomes the text.
Movement becomes the inquiry.
Awareness becomes the teacher.
