Small World - Small Wonders Poetry Workshop with Lizz Murphy
Event description
In your own small world there may be many wonders — turn your poet’s eye to them — there may be poetry at your feet.
Spend a day with published poet Lizz Murphy talking and writing about poetry and place, especially the poetry of your own place. How much attention have you paid to your immediate surroundings, the route you walk every day, the gate left open, the transforming leaves or the insects on the back of them or which birds are out for a saunter? What has changed this season, just this week … or since your Covid walks?
The day will include writing exercises, time to write and examples of place poetry in a variety of styles. BYO writing materials.
This is a full-day workshop, beginners and more experienced writers 16+ yrs welcome.
Bring a packed lunch and water.
Supported by the NSW Government through the Stronger Country Communities Fund.
