Join local author Eira Bish-Battaglia as she discusses her memoir, The Silver Buckle.
The Silver Buckle is a memoir about Eira's nurse training in London during the swinging 60s. It tells of the highs and lows, tears, laughter and lifelong friendships made during those years. Her stories include memories of sights and experiences from an 18 year old novice to a 21 year old registered nurse, capable and confident.
Books will be available for purchase on the day. Payment via cash only.

Eira Bish-Battaglia is a trained nurse with over 40 years of nursing experience, having worked in Emergency Departments in UK and Australia, and Paediatric units in NSW. Eira has taught student nurses in both the hospital based training system and the tertiary college/university nursing faculties; going on to teach medical terminology in community colleges. Eira is currently a volunteer wildlife carer/rehabilitator, rescuing and caring for a variety of injured/orphaned wildlife where her nursing skills are of good use.
