Event description

Join local author Kirsty Nancarrow as she discusses her book, Himalayan Dreams: The Story of Som Tamang.

Som Tamang's incredible journey is not just a tale of survival; it's a mission to protect girls in Nepal from human trafficking and child marriage. His courage and benevolence shine through, inspiring us all to pursue our dreams and make a positive impact on the world. Som is a true hero of the Himalayas, who triumphed against seemingly insurmountable odds.

His story, penned by award-winning former ABC journalist Kirsty Nancarrow, is a testament to the incredible strength of the human spirit and the enduring power of hope. Overcoming extreme poverty, child slavery, a tiger attack, a critical head injury and civil war, Som Tamang's tenacity led him to Australia. Through hard work and a touch of serendipity, he carved out a brighter future for generations to come.
