Join local author Tony Howells as he discusses his book, Killing Their Cousins.
The book is historical fiction about Neanderthals' extinction, focusing on conflicts between Neanderthals (Nea), particularly the Brown Bears tribe and Early Humans (Sap). It covers Nea culture, a Nea woman kidnapped by Sap, and battles between Brown Bears and Sap invaders. The Brown Bears learnt fighting skills from previous conflicts, preparing them to defend against the Sap who eventually invaded their land.
Books will be available for purchase on the day for $15. Payment via cash only.

Tony Howells was a university lecturer in biochemistry for 30 years. When he retired, he began writing and produced several short novels and two plays in the early years. In 2010 he started writing fiction and produced the four crime novels available in the library. He has been interested in Neanderthals and Early Modern Humans for many years, after reading the Jean Auel Earth’s Children series of novels. In 2018 he began writing his Neanderthal novel, Killing Their Cousins. Neanderthals and their battles with Early Modern Human. The manuscript of the book was accepted for publication by Austin Macauley Publishers.
