This isn't a workshop built around a pretend brief. Across one weekend, Oliver shoots two live commercial campaigns for two very different clients. You'll be on set for both, helping produce and take the images while Oliver walks you through every decision as it's made.
Oliver pitched for both jobs and won them. That means you'll see the whole process most photographers never get to watch: the pitch, the moodboard, the shot list, the team, the shoot days, and the final images the client signs off on.
Day 1: Studio. David Ramzy Jewellery A third-generation fine jeweller's Black Friday campaign, along with a refresh of their e-commerce imagery and video. You'll see how stills and video come out of the same set without one slowing down the other. You'll see how to light fine jewellery on skin, with reflective metal, stones and small detail. And you'll see how to keep e-commerce frames consistent while still making campaign images with feeling.
Day 2: Location. Bandsome A summer collection refresh for the contemporary Australian menswear brand, shot on location. That means real light, real movement, and getting a range of looks out of one place. It's a completely different brief from Day 1: apparel instead of fine detail, and a location that won't sit still instead of a controlled studio.
You'll work with a professional model, a stylist and a full team on both days. This is your chance to see how all the parts of a real shoot come together, and to be one of those parts.
What you'll learn
How the work was pitched and won, and what the client needed to hear
Turning a brief into a moodboard, a shot list and a shoot plan
Planning campaign, e-commerce and video deliverables from the same shoot day
Lighting jewellery in the studio with Profoto: reflective surfaces, stones, skin and fine detail
Lighting apparel on location: reading available light, then shaping it and building on top of it
Running a set with a model, a stylist and a team, and keeping it moving
Directing talent with clear communication and quick trust
Managing the client on the day while protecting the creative outcome
Getting from the shoot to final selects and delivery
What's included
Two full shoot days: one in the studio, one on location
Professional model, styling and a full crew on both days
Hands-on throughout: you help produce and take the images, with the group capped at 10
A take-home workbook covering both briefs, the moodboards, lighting setups and the key decisions from the weekend
Access to a selection of the RAW files and the final client-approved images, so you can see exactly what happened between capture and delivery
What to bring Your camera, lenses, charged batteries and spare cards. For Day 2, bring water, sun protection and comfortable shoes.
Who it's for Photographers who want to work commercially, or who already have their first clients and want to see how a professional campaign really runs. That includes portrait, fashion, product, e-commerce, lifestyle and content shooters. You should be comfortable with your camera, but you don't need to be a working pro. Day 2 builds on Day 1, so there's no single-day ticket.
The capstone of the 2026 OfOliver series Everything from the series so far comes together over two real jobs: talent, portfolio, campaigns, strobe and location. Only 10 seats, and tickets are transferable.
Want feedback on your weekend's work? Bring it to Portfolio Review Night with OfOliver + Industry Guests on Fri 20 Nov at Georges Chatswood.
