Description
Healthy Land & Water invites Lockyer Valley community representatives to participate in a catch-up about natural resource management in the Lockyer Catchment.

A forum for stakeholders in the region to:
• Connect and share knowledge between community groups, provide program updates and plan further engagement together.
• Learn about current Natural Resource Management initiatives.
• The launch of the South East Queensland Stewardship Report.
• Current sustainable agriculture and land restoration programs at Healthy Land & Water.
• Participate in a workshop regarding the update of the South East Queensland Natural Resource Management Plan.
About the South East Queensland Natural Resource Management Plan
The South East Queensland Natural Resource Management Plan is a community-driven document supporting the sustainability and liveability of our region. This plan will build on existing communities, First Nations partners, local government areas, regional and state plans or management programs. It complements them and highlights the valuable work already conducted by SEQ partners.
South East Queensland’s first region-wide Natural Resource Management Plan was created in 2009 and established 41 indicators for the region. It was updated in 2021 and is now undergoing a second five-year review. This update is a targeted refresh, not a full rewrite, and aims to keep the plan current and aligned with regional priorities, recognising the current impacts of climate change, population growth, economic, cultural, and environmental impacts.
This update is intended to:
• Build off, and not repeat, the work undertaken in the 2021 update.
• Adapt to learnings since the latest update.
• Be commensurate with the available resources.

Registration for the Lockyer Valley catch-up is essential. We value your input and look forward to collaborating with you.
