TWIST OF GOLD: A FRESH TAKE ON POP WITH A TWIST OF JAZZ
Enjoy an evening with Carrie Marshall and her incredible trio for an uplifting night from different eras in popular American music! From big band swing from the 40’s, to Norah Jones jazz of the 90’s and the sultry pop of Amy Winehouse in the 2000’s, you’ll hear favorite tunes throughout the decades with a southern blues and jazzy jukebox twist.
CARRIE MARSHALL BIO
Jazz and Blues Vocalist. Songwriter. Artist. Actress. Storyteller: No matter the medium, Carrie is a communicator and she loves to share her story through musical performances, interweaving known jazz and blues standards with her versatile, award-winning original songs. Whether taking a “Sentimental Journey” or singing the blues, Carrie shares hope, joy, struggle and peace through music. She encourages listeners to embrace their own unique stories and tap their toes to the beat of their “syncopated rhythm”, even finding gold in what can sometimes be the darkest of places. Carrie resides in Raleigh, NC with her actor/director husband, Estes Tarver. Together they run Moonlight Arts and Entertainment, a drama school and media company.

The ColaJazz Loft Sessions serve as a cultural center where jazz musicians are nurtured with opportunities to collaborate with their peers, discover and refine their creativity and perform in front of eager audiences. ColaJazz aims to sustain a tradition of artistic excellence in jazz and foster artistic growth, presenting both local and regional greats, major and established figures in jazz, as well as, our younger generation of artists.
