From Loneliness to Love - A Somatic Transformational Experience
Description
You tell yourself you’re too busy.
Too busy for the event, the dinner, the catch-up, the thing that might actually help. And it’s true, life is full. But if you’re really honest… it was never only about being busy.
There’s a quieter thing underneath. A sense of being a little apart. Of sitting in a room full of people and wondering if anyone would really notice if you slipped away. A longing for closer friendships, or a loving relationship, or simply that feeling of belonging - and a suspicion that something inside is in the way of it.
You’ve tried. This was never about not trying hard enough. Something else is in the way. And that something has a name most of us are quick to look past: loneliness.
Here’s what changes everything
Loneliness isn’t a flaw, and it isn’t a problem to solve. It’s a signal - your own system pointing you toward connection, belonging, love. It’s not proof that something’s wrong with you. It’s proof that you’re alive, and that you long to be seen.
Most of us try to fix it from the outside - another app, another event, more approval, more busyness. But the connection you’ve been reaching for begins somewhere closer than that. It begins in your own presence.
This isn’t a lecture. It’s an experience.
Over 75 minutes together, I’ll gently guide you to feel the loneliness you’ve been holding at arm’s length - not to fix it, not to escape it, but to be with it. Because something shifts when you stop running. The feeling softens. And underneath it, a felt sense of connection begins to surface. To yourself first, and then to the others in the room quietly doing the same.
Presence is a kind of love. Acceptance is a kind of love. That’s the paradox at the heart of this work - the connection you’ve been craving was here all along.

You won’t be doing it alone
In small breakout groups, you’ll share what came up and hear someone else describe the very thing you thought was yours to carry by yourself. That moment - “oh… you feel this too” - is where the belonging lands. You arrive as strangers sitting with loneliness. You leave as people who sat with it together.
What you’ll take away
This is experiential, so your evening is your own. That said, people often leave:
Lighter, and a little more at home in their body
Better able to name and understand what they’re feeling
With the quiet relief of realising they’re not the only one
And with a felt sense that the connection they were seeking has been within reach all along
Not “I learned some techniques to manage loneliness”. More like: “I can feel this and stay standing. I’m not broken. Others feel this too.”
How the evening flows
We arrive and settle, and I’ll share what to expect and why nothing you feel is wrong.
A short, simple grounding practice to help you drop out of your head and into your body. No experience needed - if you can notice your own breath, you can do this.
A guided somatic experience, around 25 minutes, with music to carry you. Cameras on, microphones off, so you have complete privacy in whatever moves through you.
Small breakout groups to share what came up and to hear that you’re not the only one.
Back together to integrate, settle, and gently close.
Who it’s for
Anyone who longs for real friendship, a loving relationship, or simply that feeling of belonging… and who senses there’s an inner block in the way. You don’t need any background in somatic work. You just need to be willing to feel.

A gentle note on caring for yourself
This is experiential, and feelings can move in this kind of work. That’s welcome. You’re always free to open your eyes, rest them on something nourishing, and feel your feet on the floor. You stay in choice the whole way through. I’ll be holding the space, and you’ll have simple tools to steady yourself whenever you need them.
What to prepare
A quiet, private space where you won’t be interrupted for the 75 minutes.
Headphones, if you have them - they help the music and my voice feel closer.
Something nourishing to rest your eyes on when you need it - a plant, a candle, a photo you love.
A blanket or cushion to feel cosy, and some water.
Camera on, microphone off. You’ll join, settle, and simply be with yourself.
The Zoom link is sent after you register, and again on the day.

About your guide

Sarah Rus is a Relationship & Leadership Coach and a Certified Mastery Method Coach, trained through the Institute for Coaching Mastery (an ICF-accredited program). She also brings more than 15 years as a healthcare professional, so a caring, steady presence comes naturally.
She knows the feeling of loneliness from the inside. The kind that shows up at an airport far from home, or in a room full of friends where you feel like you could quietly disappear.
Over the years bringing people together through her social-events work, she noticed something: the ones who most wanted connection were often the ones who couldn't quite show up. Not from laziness, and not from lack of trying - something deeper was in the way.
That's the work she guides now, and she meets people in it without trying to fix it or make it weird. Her approach is inside-out: shift what's happening within - the patterns, the nervous system, the beliefs - and the outside begins to follow.
This isn't only work she teaches, it's work she lives. She trained as a yoga instructor in 2015, grounded in pranayama (breathwork), and practises two hours of her own somatic work every day. So when she guides you into your body, it's from ground she knows well.
FAQs
- What is somatic?
"Somatic" simply means "of the body". Most of us spend our days up in our heads, thinking, planning, analysing. Somatic work is the gentle practice of bringing your attention down into your body and noticing what's there: the sensations, the feelings, the quiet signals we usually rush past.
There's nothing to get right, and no experience needed. On the night it looks like following your breath, noticing where a feeling lives in you, and letting it be there with kindness. Your body already knows how, we're simply slowing down enough to listen.
- I'm running late. What can I do?
To protect the group's focus, the room closes at 7:00pm sharp. Once we drop into the practice, late arrivals can't be admitted, and the ticket can't be refunded for that session.
Please log in from 6:45pm and give yourself a few quiet minutes to settle. If you know ahead of time that you can't make a date, you're welcome to reschedule to another session with at least 24 hours' notice. - Is the event recorded? Will a replay be available?
No. The event is not recorded and a replay won't be available.
Cameras are on and microphones off, the space is confidential, and the session isn't recorded. - Do I need any experience?
None. If you can notice your breath, you can do this.
- Will I have to speak, or be put on the spot?
No. Camera on, mic off during the practice, so it's private; sharing afterward is invited, never required.
- What if I get emotional, or it feels like a lot?
Feelings can move in this kind of work, and that's welcome, tears, a wobble, a wave of something. It's not a sign anything's wrong.
Before we begin, set yourself up with something nourishing within easy reach, a favourite plant, a candle, a photo you love, a soft blanket. If a moment ever feels like a lot, you can simply open your eyes and rest them on that, feel your feet on the floor, and let yourself settle. It's a gentle anchor back to the here and now, and it's yours to reach for any time you need it.
I'll be holding the space the whole way through, you'll have simple tools to steady yourself, and you stay in choice, always.
- What do I need?
A quiet, private space where you won't be interrupted, and somewhere comfortable to settle, a supportive chair, your couch, or a yoga mat. Headphones if you have them, and something nourishing to rest your eyes on, a plant, a candle, a photo you love. A blanket or cushion to feel cosy, and some water.
Have your camera on and positioned so you're in view during the experience. This lets me keep a caring eye on the group and be there for you if anything comes up. Your microphone stays off, so your experience is completely private.
- I'm not sure I even feel "lonely." Is it still for me?
Yes, it's for anyone longing for connection or belonging, whatever you call the feeling.
- Is this therapy?
No, it's a guided somatic experience and coaching, with a gentle safety note pointing anyone in crisis toward professional support.
