ABOUT THE EVENT

Experience the exciting buzz of launch night for Long Listen, a new boutique music festival for the community, in our community, artist-driven, and musician-led.  Join us to celebrate the power of music at our inaugural festival teaser!  We can't wait to welcome you with the cutest charm of small hall hospitality.  

Hear a dazzling short punchy program of eclectic music from around the world performed by dynamic visiting guest artists, What a musical treat we have in store for you!

Listen up close and personal to Emily Granger on harp, Tim Munro on flute, Michael Knopf on guitar with Shannon Garson, porcelain artist from Maleny joining Louise King, our Artistic Director on stage as a daring finale of live pot throwing with cello improvisation. 

Enjoy connecting and making friends at pre-concert with drinks 🍹 and refreshments and listen to our guest artists in conversation with Louise, Artistic Director from the stage.

Short chats from the stage between short musical works will be centred on:

- deep listening in culture on country with Aunty Hope

- making new improvised music with Tim Munro

- touring in regional communities with Emily 

- composing multi-style fusion music with Michael Knopf

- creating multi-disciplinary work with Shannon Garson

ABOUT LONG LISTEN

Hello, I am Louise King and I am the Artistic Director of Long Listen, a new punchy festival program of short music experiences.  Think classics with a twist.   

On Friday 29 September to 2 October 2023, I am launching Long Listen in my community at Eudlo Hall.  Book tickets to experience a Long Listen teaser of short listening sessions featuring guest artists and conversations.

Long Listen broadens our arts ecology, by providing an inclusive audience experience.  At its heart is the power of music.

Long Listen is an artist-driven, musician-led new annual boutique festival that presents the broad sweep of classical crossover artists in community places.  Think a mashup of originals, world, folk and jazz artists, or singer-writers with string quartet.  

Long Listen provides a space for audiences to explore, share and discover music and for our artists, a platform to experiment, make work, embedded in this community, for our community. 

Help me realise Long Listen!  I am working towards a fundraising goal of $50k to deliver the first festival program in October 2024.   I need investors, donors and key partnerships.  Your ticket directly supports our guest artists, and helps kickstart this new boutique festival.
