Falls Creek Long Lunch 2026

Traverse Alpine Group invites you to experience this year's Long Lunch at Cloud 9, where long tables, flowing drinks and mountain views set the scene for an unforgettable afternoon.

Arrive via Halley's Comet chairlift or bus, step out onto the deck with a glass in hand, and settle in for a leisurely celebration of food, local drinks, music and good company.

Expect a generous feast featuring arrival drinks and canapés on the deck, seasonal entrees, mains and desserts in the main dining room, premium local beverages from Bright Brewery and Webster's Estate, and live entertainment.

This year, your ticket also helps make a difference. Traverse Alpine Group and Vail Resorts will donate $20 from every ticket sold to Betty’s Place Women's Refuge, supporting local women and children experiencing domestic and family violence.

Traverse Alpine Group Food Director Kate Duggan has developed a seasonal, generous menu for this year’s Long Lunch (please note this menu is a sample only and is subject to change).

• Canapes: steamed prawn dumplings with ginger and black vinegar, golden mozzarella with native thyme and truffle, and kangaroo tartar with dashi mayo and shiso

• Entrée: Farm to Fork’s amazing hot smoked ocean trout with pickled apple, Yarra Valley roe and native herb emulsion

• Mains: plump golden roasted chicken breast and locally grazed Alpine Valley goat - slow cooked ragout and seared loin, both served with confit garlic and white bean puree, parsley, radicchio and pickled grapes, and Kate’s own fig vino cotto

• Side: crunchy twice cooked chats with sage and lemon

• Desserts: Nana’s meringue with Davidson plum, berry compote and cream, chocolate brownie with whipped wattle seed chocolate cream, salted caramel pineapple tapioca pudding with coconut cream and kaffir lime, and fresh fruit platter

Registration is required for those wanting to catch the chairlift to the event. Please register for lift access here. Falls Creek Sports in Slalom Plaza will be open from 10:30am-12:15pm on the day for guests to collect their mountain access cards (for access to the lift). Halley’s Comet chairlift will be running from 11am-12:15pm for transport to Cloud 9 (upload only).

After the final course, buses will return guests to the Village Bowl, dropping everyone at Frying Pan Inn for complimentary snacks and an after party to keep the celebrations going.

Event details & important information

Transport (no vehicle access)
Cloud 9 is not accessible by private vehicle. Guests can travel to the event via Halley's Comet chairlift or a dedicated bus service to Cloud 9 - the choice is yours. At the conclusion of the event, buses will return guests to the village and drop off at Frying Pan Inn.

All guests who wish to catch the chairlift up to the event will be required to register (free of charge). Falls Creek Sports in Slalom Plaza will be open from 10:30am-12:15pm on Friday 13 March to collect your mountain access card to access the lift. Halley’s Comet chairlift will be running from 11am-12:15pm on the day.

For your safety on uneven surfaces at the lift stations, flat and secure footwear is required when loading and unloading the chairlift. High heels are not permitted.

Mount Beauty bus
For guests travelling from Mount Beauty, a free return bus to Falls Creek is available - please email sarah@traversealpine.com.au to reserve a seat.

Seating requests
If you wish to sit together, please book all tickets in one order. Maximum 10 guests per booking. Seating requests are not guaranteed. Groups may be adjusted to ensure tables are filled. Final table allocations will be available on the day prior to departure and upon arrival at Cloud 9.

Dietary requirements
Please note dietaries at the time of booking or contact Sam (admin@traversealpine.com.au) or Jessie (pr@traversealpine.om.au) at least one week prior to the event. Requests within one week of the event cannot be accommodated.
