Long Term Plan - have your say!

Event description

Whether it's the roads we drive on, the parks where we relax or the water we drink, the decisions made by the council directly impact our everyday lives.

Join Councillors Phill Hooper and Leen Braam for an introduction to the Ashburton District Council’s draft Long Term Plan (LTP), a proposed roadmap for the projects and services that will be provided over the next 10 years and how they’ll be funded.

The LTP offers our community the opportunity to help define the priorities of our district and it’s important that everyone has their say.

The Council is asking for feedback on five key decisions.

  • What should our kerbside green waste collection look like?
  • If we invest in water-based leisure, where should it be?
  • What should we do with Balmoral Hall and old Polytech land?
  • Should we get out of providing stockwater?
  • Should we extend the EA Networks Centre stadium?

Learn more about the choices ahead, see how your rates may be affected, ask questions and chat with the councillors at this free event.

After a short presentation there will be plenty of time for questions and opportunities to give your feedback if you choose to (in writing, in conversation, or using tablets supplied). Supper will also be provided.

This event is free and open to everyone - but please register so we know numbers for catering and can choose the most appropriate room in Te Kete Tuhinga/ Ashburton Public Library. We will email you the day before with which space we'll be in and how to find it.

See itsourplace.nz for more information about the Long Term Plan.
