The Long Walk: Understanding the Voice with Michael Long
Event description
The Uluru Statement from the Heart has extended a generous and powerful invitation to all Australians for constitutional recognition of First Nations Australians. We are embracing this invitation and asking you to join us on this journey of saying Yes.
Michael Long invites you to a special interactive community Town Hall as part of the Long Walk he is taking to demonstrate his support for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament.
Journeying by foot from Melbourne to Canberra, this is the second time Michael will complete this walk, having first walked it in 2004 to get Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues back on the national agenda.
Join Michael, along with Uncle Hewitt Whymann and Vickie Burkinshaw at this interactive community event as an opportunity to learn more about the upcoming Voice referendum its potential impact in the walk towards reconciliation as a country.
This in person event is open to everyone. It is an opportunity for different communities to come together, learn, ask questions and engage in a constructive conversation about the Voice Referendum.
