An Intimate Experience of Uruguayan Candombe Rhythms

Join us for an afternoon and evening of Candombe de Mesa; a unique, up-close format that brings the rich drumming traditions of Uruguay into an intimate shared space.

Formed uniquely for this event, the house band is made up of local knowledge holders - musicians, singers, dancers and storytellers - that will recreate Uruguay's most recognised Candombe songs, with special guests features from the Uruguayan and latinx diaspora here in so-called Australia.

Candombe is a vibrant Afro-Uruguayan tradition with deep roots in community, culture, and rhythm. Candombe de Mesa strips it back to its essence: musicians and audience gathered around the table, sharing sound, story, and celebration together.

Whether you're a long-time lover of Afro-Latin music or discovering Candombe for the first time, this is a welcoming space for all.

Una experiencia íntima de ritmos del Candombe uruguayo

Vení a pasar una tarde de Candombe de Mesa, un formato único que trae la tradición tamborilera del Uruguay a un espacio compartido y íntimo.

Musicos, cantantes y narradores locales se reuniran este dia para crear un evento único. En esta ocasión las mas icónicas canciones de candombe serán interpretadas por invitados especiales que le darán un toque especial a lo que promete ser una experiencia totalmente elevada.

El Candombe es una tradición afro-uruguaya, con raíces profundas en la comunidad, la cultura y el ritmo. El Candombe de Mesa lo lleva a su esencia: músicos y público reunidos alrededor de una mesa, compartiendo sonido, historia y celebración juntos.

Seas fanático de siempre de la música afrolatina o estés descubriendo el Candombe por primera vez, este es un espacio abierto y de bienvenida para todos.
