KNOTLESS NETTING is an ancient technique that is one of the foundation technologies that underpins the development of the human race.  From the simple loop to the figure 8 loop, many nets, bags and objects can be made.  Knotless Netting is most successful when in combination with cordage, but can also be pared back, depending on time restrictions.

In this class you will learn 3 different knotless netting techniques and choose to make a sculpture or a bag....or both.

All materials will be supplied and your creativity can go wild.

With over 28 years experience of making, exhibiting and teaching basketry and fibre art Zimmi has a wealth of knowledge on Australian natural fibre basketry.

Zimmi will also share her knowledge of the history of Australian basketry, terminology and ethics.

All materials and equipment will be supplied….what you will learn will allow you to go out and forage for yourselves from very easy to find materials.
