Set in rural Australia in 1866, Lords of the Soil follows Basil Bennett, a city doctor seeking a new life on the frontier lands of New South Wales. After settling on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River, an encounter with a young Wiradjuri family challenges his understanding of the land, its people and the world he has entered, as an unlikely connection begins to form against a backdrop of growing tension and change.
