LORDS Water Bottles 2026

Each year, our Year 4 students embark on a Project-Based Learning (PBL) journey driven by the big question: How might we keep Indigenous culture alive at LORDS? Throughout this inquiry, students explore Indigenous history, culture, and art, before developing their own ideas for taking meaningful action. As part of the process, students refine their ideas, create prototypes, and present their learning at the Showcase of Learning, where members of the school community are invited to engage and vote.

In 2025, the selected Year 4 project was the creation of LORDS water bottles featuring Indigenous artwork that responds to the driving question. Students developed design concepts that were shared with Indigenous artist Dan Evans. These ideas highlighted themes such as community and connection, totem animals representing the school houses (dolphin, kangaroo, and eagle), animal footprints, and elements of the local landscape. Dan Evans then drew on these concepts to create the final digital artwork, now showcased on the water bottles.
