Loren Kate & Archer
Event description
Doors 6:30pm, Music starts 7pm
Archer is a folk musician. A country blues crooner poet. Singing by the Rivers, singing in the nursing homes, singing for the children. He is an author, has written hundreds of songs and spends most days Planting Trees and feeding delicacies to a giant Cow.
Archer recently featured in the cult classic documentary "I'm Wanita" and is busy recording an album with producer Michael hohnen (Gurrumul) and composer Erkki Veltheim. A unique and captivating voice.
When Loren Kate finished school, she set out in search of adventure. Armed with only a guitar, a backpack and a few dollars in her pocket, she jumped on a train and travelled 800km to Byron Bay on the NSW North Coast. In this bustling coastal town, Loren Kate began busking and learning more about music from the local street folk. It wasn’t long before the crowds began to gather to listen to her stories. Loren Kate is now an award-winning songwriter and has performed as a headline artist at festivals and concerts across Australia.
“Loren Kate is extraordinary – she brings warmth, tenderness and compassion to the world through her presence in both the performing and recording arenas. Her voice makes me weep with its direct and pure sincerity. Her songs contain a distilled spirituality and honesty that touch many, with exquisitely shaped melodies, glowing harmonic movement and lyrics resonant with deep poetic meaning.”
