Losing It
Event description
It's the night before her 30th birthday, and Emma is waiting for a Tinder date in the beer garden of the Bank Hotel. He's late. On any other day she would have bailed ten minutes ago, but Emma's got a very important box to tick before the clock strikes twelve, and Mr February is her last chance.
A script developed through the inaugural Katie Lees Fellowship at Flight Path in 2022, LOSING IT is a tragicomic take on perhaps the last taboo of our post-sexual revolution culture - the later-in-life virgin. Vibrators, vaginismus, sex workers and bad handjobs all make an appearance as Emma embarks on her final attempt to ‘lose it’ before she hits her 30s. We get a window into her relationships, her anxieties, and the weird unspoken question that arises when you reveal you’re a virgin at 29… why?
