Event description

About the Lost Skills sessions

REthink Nillumbik is hosting a series of free workshops at the Nillumbik Repair Cafe. At these sessions, you can learn fantastic new skills to use at home, and also help Nillumbik reduce its waste and transition to a circular economy. A circular economy is one that repairs, reuses and repurposes objects rather than throwing them away.

March Lost Skills: Vacuum cleaner maintenance

Vacuums are one of the top items we see at the repair cafe, and most have stopped working properly due to simple issues like a blocked filter.

Learn how to maintain your vacuum for better performance and longer life. This short session covers cleaning filters, clearing blockages, and checking hoses and brushes. Participants will gain practical knowledge to restore suction and reduce the need for repairs or replacement.

The session is relevant to stick and corded vacuums of all models, and attendees are welcome to bring along their own vacuum to clean and maintain during the workshop.

FREE but bookings are essential.

When is it?

Saturday 14 March, from 10.30 to 11.30am.

Who is it for?

All Lost Skills sessions are free to attend and open to everyone in Nillumbik. This session is great for anyone wanting to learn a handy new skill, save money by doing their own DIY, or support a circular economy by giving objects a new lease on life.

Additional info
  • The session will be held indoors.

  • We are committed to creating an inclusive and accessible event environment for all attendees. If you have accessibility or inclusion concerns regarding this event, contact us about how we can help.
