Lothian Street History Walk at Junction Fest 2023
Event description
Lothian Street, Annerley began its existence as Jane Street in June 1887 in the Collins Estate subdivision of portion 106 of Yeerongpilly and since that time has been inhabited by a wide range of characters, including journalist and author Hugh Lunn and Francis W Dalton who hosted coming-of-age parties, military send-offs for the Great War and fundraisers for returned soldiers.
This one hour walk also highlights social history, noting how homes adjusted to changes in the ways people lived and worked from the early 1900s to the 1980s.
Assembly point is the corner of Lothian Street and Dudley Street East, Annerley
