Join local author Amy Hutton in conversation with Claudine Tinellis as they discuss her newest rom-com, Love from Scratch

Opposites attract in this laugh-out-loud rom-com about a heart-throb actor, the grumpy woman who minds his beloved dog, and the cat that steals his heart.

Ethan James has a career altering problem on his hands when his anxious pup, Harry, needs a new minder so he can beginning filming. Enter Hazel Conor, recently unemployed and begrudgingly agreeing to help out despite finding Ethan annoying. Hazel finds everything about Ethan annoying; he’s flashy, flirty, and a total charmer. She probably wouldn’t look at him twice if it wasn’t for her cat. Because Kevin, the cat who hates everyone, is totally smitten with Ethan, so Hazel has to reassess her first impression.

Amy Hutton is an award-winning television producer and writer of contemporary romance, living on Sydney’s Northern Beaches with a rescue dog named Buffy. Her short stories, Love is the Icing and Hot Like Chocolate, feature in the 2020 and 2021 Romance Writers of Australia Sweet Treats anthologies. Her first novel, Sit, Stay, Love, was released in 2023. 

Claudine Tinellis is a former corporate lawyer turned fiction writer, podcaster, presenter and moderator. In 2014 she was involved with the non-fiction cookbook Coastal Chef: Culinary Art of Seaweed & Algae in the 21st Century but writing fiction Is where her heart lies. She began the Talking Aussie Books podcast in 2018 dedicated to connecting readers with their favourite Australian authors. With more than 250 authors interviewed to date, she has become one of Australia's most recognisable, in-demand book podcasters. Claudine is also a founding executive member of the biennial Northern Beaches Readers Festival.
