Event description

Columbia Arts presents this special play as the kick off to our 20th anniversary celebration with this fitting play by long time local resident, author, actor, director and supporter of the arts Gary Young. Love in 4/4 Time is being directed by another long time resident, actor, director  and supporter of the arts John Bryan. Do the names Bob and Carol and Ted and Alice, perhaps two of the most famous couples of the 1970s, jog your memory? The names are the same, but the time and characters are different.  Love in 4/4 Time features 2 couples, confronted by the reality of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia and the ways in which they forge ahead into life’s undefined future with humor and honesty. This play is for all ages, and lends itself to post performance discussion on the first Sunday matinee.

Love in 4/4 Time received a development grant from the Salvador Fund of Gorge Community Foundation and was first presented as a dramatic reading by Adult Center Theater as part of Older American Month. Gary has added to the play and it is being brought to the Columbia Center for Arts as a full performance play for just 4 shows.
