Love Songs in Challenging Times: a benefit folk concert
Event description
I call them all "love songs.” ― Pete Seeger
Challenging times? Come together for a night of live music that benefits others! Talented local performers The Rivergods (duo), Geoff Kaufman, Dan and Liz Spurr, Liliane Andres, Elastic Folks, Geoff Mitchill Band (duo), and Gilead Road will perform two songs each. The theme is love…and resilience. …and generosity! The New London Haitian Church Youth Drum Corps and performers from Shekinah Haitian SDA Church, neighbors of Friday Night Folk in New London, join the celebration. Refreshments available before the concert.
Our beneficiary: With a goal of “Innovating for a resilient Haitian future,” New London’s Haitian Hub Resource Center offers the Haitian community a range of services.
As Pete Seeger said, "Participation is what will save the human race... when people discover a harmony they never knew existed!"
