Love the Lesch BioWatch!

We are launching a new citizen science project using iNaturalist to help record, monitor and analyse the occurrence of the many species of organisms across the Leschenault Estuary! The project will engage our wonderful local community to have input in traditional scientific research. By joining in, you’ll become part of a growing community of local nature lovers and citizen scientists, helping to collect valuable information that can support researchers and land managers to better understand and protect the Estuary and the species that rely on it.

To get started, we are holding a workshop - to discuss the project, teach you how to use iNaturalist and then put your new skills to the test with a citizen science field walk!

This event is free, but places are limited. Please register for catering purposes. GF and vegetarian options will be available, attendees with additional dietary requirements are recommended to bring their own.

Bring along a water bottle, phone or camera and notepad, and make sure you are wearing enclosed shoes for walking and weather appropriate clothing.
