Event description

Explore the fascinating worlds of foraging and cyanotype printing during this nourishing springtime workshop. You'll not only take home a beautiful deep blue botanical cyanotype print—referred to as a "sun print"—but also an enhanced appreciation for nature, sustainable practices, and the remarkable potential of weeds.

Discover the sustainable historic photographic technique of cyanotype printing, which produces stunning deep-blue prints without a camera. As the prints develop under the sunlight, we'll venture outdoors for an exciting foraging expedition, where you'll learn about sustainable foraging practices and the incredible health benefits of weeds such as dandelion, self-heal, wild garlic, and more.

Guided by experienced artists and permaculturists, participants will learn the basics of foraging and cyanotype printing, making it an ideal experience for beginners, while still offering valuable insights for those more advanced in either art or foraging.

This workshop is best suited for adults, teens, and their carers, but younger children are welcome to join and will be encouraged to get involved alongside their carers. Each ticket holder will create one cyanotype so any children wishing to create their own will need a ticket.

Please dress for the Scottish weather as we will be both inside and outside.

Please be honest when choosing a ticket type as there are limited numbers for low and medium priced tickets.
