It's been (for want of a better word) a hell of a year so we want to see this year out with what we feel will be the perfect antidote.

Let’s come together for our virtual LoveEarth Festival. There will be inspiration, empowerment and music.

It will be about togetherness, collective power, and looking after ourselves so that we can be the best warriors for our Earth and communities that we can be.

We have extraordinary speakers to inspire us and lay out a climate action plan for the future, while some of our favourite musicians will have us dancing.

And along with 1 Million Women Founder Natalie Isaacs, we’ll have the Queen of Fun as our MC, Bernie Hobbs, so we know it’s going to be a good time.

BIOS OF ALL OUR SPEAKERS AND PERFORMERS

Christiana Figueres is the former UN climate chief who led the process that resulted in 195 countries signing the historic Paris Agreement in 2015. Today Christiana is the co-host of the podcast "Outrage & Optimism" and is the co-author of the recently published book,"The Future We Choose: Surviving the Climate Crisis". Christiana will inspire us all to find that gritty determination to be more empowered than ever to tackle the climate crisis. 'We have two choices for our future, which is still unwritten. It will be shaped by who we choose to be right now. So, how can we change the story of the world?'

Mary Robinson First woman President of Ireland and former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights; a passionate, forceful advocate for climate justice, gender equality, women’s participation in peace-building and human dignity." "We are the first generation to understand how serious the climate crisis is and the last generation to be able to do something about it."

Kathy Jetnil-Kijiner is a Marshall Islander poet, performance artist, educator. She received international acclaim through her poetry performance at the opening of the United Nations Climate Summit in New York in 2014. Her writing and performances have been featured by CNN, Democracy Now, the Huffington Post, NBC News, National Geographic, and more. In February 2017, the University of Arizona Press published her first collection of poetry, Iep Jāltok: Poems from a Marshallese Daughter.

Alice Skye is a Wergaia/Wemba Wemba person living and writing music in Naarm (Melbourne). Since her first album 'Friends with Feelings' she has signed with Bad Apples, the Indigenous-driven label that celebrates and priorities' blak excellence. Alice's upcoming sophomore album 'I Feel Better but I Don't Feel Good' was produced by local artist Jen Cloher. Her work continues to look inwards and explores finding staunchness in softness.

Missy Higgins is an Australian singer/songwriter and has enjoyed phenomenal success with her irresistible melodies and ‘arrow through the heart’ lyrics, delivered by a striking voice that clearly means it. Missy has just released a standalone single ‘When The Machine Starts’.

Paul Kelly is one of Australia’s greatest songwriters. His songs have a way of digging into the country in a way that few artists can do, how it looks, feels, tastes, sounds. The joys and sorrows, achievements and follies. If you want to know something about Australia, how it feels to be Australian, you can find it in his songs.

Uncle Kev Carmody is an Indigenous Australian singer-songwriter and musician. On 27 August 2009, he was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame. “In the early years of my life, from 1950 to 1956, we were droving and everything we possessed was on horses,” Carmody says. “You had to feel connected with the country, and the old people told us so much history and law. The night sky was like a huge blackboard. Every star constellation had a story.”

Aunty Bea Ballangarry is a Gumbaynggirr Elder from the Mid North Coast of NSW. She is a mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunty, carer and friend to many. She is a born storyteller and a published poet. Her ceremony work involves the earth for ‘Uniting Country’, Air to visualise a ‘letting go’ process, fire to ‘fire dreams’ and water by using it as an envoy to the universe and to close the ritual. Aunty Bea raises awareness for the equality and unity for and about women, where women will reach their own unique spirit to be her best self.

Craig Reucassel is a writer and comedian who is best known for his work with The Chaser and for going through your bins on The War on Waste. He focuses on how consumer demand and behaviours are impacting our household and retail waste and how packaging and food waste are contributing to the massive volumes of waste produced each year. What effect will this have on our future and what can we do to reduce waste?

Margaret Klein Salamon is clinical psychologist turned climate warrior whose work helps people to face the deeply frightening, painful truths of climate change and transform their despair into effective action.

Bernie Hobbs is an award winning science writer and presenter. She has worked extensively in television (The New Inventors, Catalyst, the experiMENTALS), on radio and online, and is our go to science guru and our much loved ambassador for 1MW.

And Natalie Isaacs the founder of 1 Million Women.
