New Zealand alternative indie group Lover is a two-piece experimental indie project from long time friends Will Morris and Johnny Bullen, their dynamic, textured sound blends heartfelt songwriting with bold, layered production.
They share new single ‘SHEEN’ which is due for release 12 June and the announcement of their signing to COHORT. Their previous singles include ‘Reason Two’ and ‘Get//The/Scene’ which generated acclaim from music journalist Harrison Waugh, rave triple j reviews, support from PBS FM, 4ZZZ, 2SER, Radio Adelaide and was playlisted on Apple Music’s New in Rock.
Lover are entirely self-recorded and produced, drawing inspiration from artists such as Chanel Beads, Alex G, Oli XL, Mk.gee and Yves Tumor. Their music combines personal, reflective themes with experimental sonic elements.

Lunar Lagoon
Lunar Lagoon are an alt-electronic group based in Naarm/Melbourne, stemming from the solo works of frontman Joe Nurrish. Now as a collaborative project between Nurrish & Luke Morton, Lunar Lagoon’s live band features members from Heir Traffic, Polly & The Pockets, Everyday Believer + more. Taking influence from Mount Kimble, King Krule, The Streets, Cocteau Twins + more, the group’s angular & rich sound, paired with the moody introspective lyrics of Nurrish, encapsulates the spaces between, the feeling of darkness coinciding with the light, and explores themes of nostalgia & the unknown. With the release of their debut EP “Light Seeps Thru My Blinds”, coverage was seen across Triple R, & FBi Radio, with plays on the Breakfasters & Double Bounce shows on RRR, and “Wayw(ard)” being included in FBi’s best new music playlist. A small run of 7” vinyl was also pressed for the debut single “MINISKULE!”, with Naarm/Melbourne band Speed Mullet. Dusting off the cobwebs, and emerging with purpose, Lunar Lagoon is taking on 2026 head-on. With the release of several upcoming singles, including “Miles” & “Drifting Away” , the group’s follow up self-titled EP is expected in mid-2026. Recorded, mixed & mastered internally by the group, Lunar Lagoon’s upcoming EP also sees performance & production from Daniel Devlin (The Belair Lip Bombs, Delivery), Emma Hall-Phillips (aw b) & Harry Lowe (Dual Citizen).
Paint
Made up of four friends from Fremantle, WA, Paint formed in 2021 and have since become known for their signature brand of fuzzy pop that draws influence from modern shoegaze and 90s alt rock. 2024 saw the band pick up momentum when their self-recorded, sophomore EP, ‘Gift Shop’ was released. This made waves in Australia, being the local feature release on RTRfm and listed in Rolling Stone Australia’s Best New Australian music. It has also gained international attention from The Line of Best Fit (UK) and was added to rotation on Seattle’s KEXP (USA). In February of 2025, ‘Gift Shop’ peaked at 10 in North American College and Community Radio Top 200 and soon after Paint opened for the Lemonheads on the WA legs of their Australian tour. In the back half of 2025 and in support of their recent double single "Forever and Always," the band have started playing interstate for the first time, touring with Armlock in NSW in August and Fool Nelson on 10 dates all over Australia in October.
