Description

We are delighted to announce that we will be back this summer to celebrate our tenth anniversary with a new production of Love’s Labour’s Lost, Shakespeare’s sparkling comedy of flirtation, foolishness and the irresistible pull of love. The production will be directed by Toby Gordon.

The play begins at 7pm sharp and we encourage guests to picnic before the show from 5.30pm. There will be a brief interval and the play will finish by 9pm. If you plan to picnic, please take away all your rubbish and respect the neighbours as you leave.

Unobtrusive photography is encouraged. Do share your photographs on social media and tag us.

FAQs

  • What time does the show start?

We must start at 7pm promptly as we need to perform during daylight.

  • Is there an interval?

There is a 15-minute interval, but we can’t extend that or we lose the light, so picnics etc will be more leisurely if taken beforehand.

  • Is seating provided?

Yes, but it is unreserved, so get there early if you want a specific place, or are trying to seat several people together.

  • Are there lavatories on site?

Yes, the loos within Sands End Arts & Community Centre will be open.

  • Is the performance amplified?

No, audience feedback is consistently in favour of as little technical intervention as possible. The cast is very aware of the need to be audible, but we are at the mercy of ambient sound, such as traffic noise and police sirens. Sometimes wildlife adds to the atmosphere!

  • What happens if it rains?

It is our firm intention that the show goes on in light to moderate rain. In the event of such severe weather that there would be a risk to the cast, we may have local wet-weather options on standby, but these would be a last resort.

  • Do you allow photography?

Unobtrusive photography is encouraged. Do share your photographs on social media and tag us.
