Luminous Lanterns Of The Sea with Melanie Maclou

Join sculptor Melanie Maclou for Luminous Lanterns of the Sea, a hands-on workshop inspired by her SWELL sculpture Ocean Dancer: Crimson AlLure. Using cane pith, tissue paper, translucent materials and soft LED light, come and create a glowing underwater-inspired lantern. Each finished lantern will be attached to a bamboo stick, ready to carry and show off at sunset or after dark. Suitable for teens and adults, no previous sculpture experience required.

Melanie has created major public artworks including underwater reef sculptures and interactive school/community projects. She is an experienced creative facilitator, delivering hands-on workshops and artist residencies that invite people of all ages into the joy of making.
