This is huge everyone... I have so much to tell you about this day.

First, we're seniors this year!!! This Lunar Faire's 4th year and I think we pretty much rule the school.

What are we gonna do about it?

Well we got our FIRST EVER CELEBRITY!!!
CHRIS GETHARD (and crew) of New Jersey is the World (my favorite podcast), the host of the podcast Beautiful/Anonymous (my second favorite podcast), the author of a few books, the figurehead of a canceled television show that was actually more like a religious cult, and the subject of at least one run-on sentence will be officially awarding Lunar Faire the largest group spell ever performed award!!!

We NEED you in attendance to establish this record that's never been attempted in the history of ever and especially by night markets. Who is verifying it? Uhhhh we are no one is the boss of us. And Chris Gethard. Guinness and their lame book was too good to come out but let someone try and tell us we didn't set a record. Just try.

Next, you have some homework:

Because the good people at Rascal Salvage Vintage are bringing their giant replica Falkor head and you're gonna want to take a picture with it and you're gonna wanna know why you're taking that picture. Incidentally, it's a luck dragon and this is the year of the dragon. Could it be more perfect???

The prom is back! Every year we do a Promiversary with a giant disco ball craned into the middle of a field to commemorate the birth of the faire, which occurred on the new moon in June 2021. This year, it's an 80s prom. Fire up your Starship (or the prom limo) cause nothing's gonna stop us now.

I think we need a Bubble Witch. Let's get Meadow Perry back.

Accessibility

This is a flat fairgrounds with sections of pavement and compacted grass. Parking is on grass and the gate is accessed at the bottom of a gradual 20 foot slope. Handicap parking is available close to the front gate. The dance area and most of the vendors are on flat grass and the rest are on pavement.

Parking

No parking fee!

Of course, if you have an opportunity to carpool or get dropped off, that's still extremely super cool of you and allows for more attendee parking! :)

Rain Date

This is an all weather event . The only reason we would cancel is if the weather is extremely severe or like the parking fields are snow covered but our blizzard wizard is on retainer to prevent this.

Refunds

All ticket sales are final. No refunds will be issued or transfers honored for other events unless we cancel or reschedule.

No Furry Friends Please

Pets other than service animals are prohibited. You may have seen people bring pets. Those people might not have seen the FAQs on the website or this part of the ticket, or the posts about it, or may be ignoring all of these. But please, out of respect for the venue, and, more importantly, non-pet people, and our insurance policy, please leave your furry friends at home. You will be turned away if you have a non-service animal pet with you.

Children

Should I bring them?

Depends how feral they are. If they are at least mildly civilized they’ll be thoroughly entertained and will remain undevoured.

Are they free?

So you decided to take the plunge and make a new generation of cool kids. Nice. 10 and under are free.

Do a lot of kids go?

A lot.

I've heard this is wholesome. But is it?

As you can see from the above questions, people proudly bring their children. Without getting into a philosophical argument about subjectivity and moral outrage, this is generally a wholesome and safe event. People are friendly, loving, inclusive, and peaceful. But it isn't sanitized. The map might say "Long-Ass Road" and our schedule includes active and participatory spellwork and we do not censor adult vendor products (though most are not overt). We occasionally sell a drink that looks like blood in a bag. But it's non-alcoholic, as are all our potions. And while there is absolutely nothing inherently dangerous to encounter, we're likely always going to walk a line of "propriety." And maybe, as a result, pioneer a whole new unapologetic version of wholesome. It is up to you and your parenting style to decide what you personally find objectionable and what is best for your own children. Our children attend.

You might have your picture taken and we might post it on our socials. If that's a problem, tell someone.

Covid Stuff

Mask mandates are rapidly changing and we are a compassionate crowd! Please bring one, and wear one when appropriate or asked. We will comply with all mandates as they roll out closer to the event date and ask for your cooperation and empathy.

Additionally, exposure to COVID-19 is an inherent risk in any public location where people are present; we cannot guarantee you will not be exposed during your visit. The CDC advises that older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions might be at higher risk for severe illness from Coronavirus. Attendees should evaluate their own risk in determining whether to attend. Don't come if you're sick, showing symptoms, or generally cantankerous. People who show no symptoms can spread Coronavirus if they are infected, any interaction with the general public poses an elevated risk of being exposed to Coronavirus. By coming to Lunar Faire, you acknowledge and agree that you assume these inherent risks associated with attendance.
