Lunch & Learn: What are Cyber Attackers Doing? How are They Hacking Startups?
Event description
*This session has been rescheduled to Wednesday 1st November 2023. You can view the updated session here.
This session aims to provide founders with a comprehensive understanding of what cyber attackers are doing and how they hack startups. We will discuss the potential impact of cyber attacks on startup businesses and the necessary steps to ensure robust cyber security. While data breaches at larger companies often grab headlines, attacks on small to medium-sized businesses, including startups, receive less media attention despite facing similar risks.
Convincing startups to prioritise risk mitigation can be challenging, as they are typically focused on rapid growth and enhancing their products to achieve market success. It can be difficult to grasp the importance of investing in areas like preventative security that may not directly contribute to immediate revenue gains.
For long-term success, startups and scaleups must prioritise assessing the risks associated with potential security breaches and develop effective plans to address them. This session is specifically tailored for founders and CTOs, with the clear objective of educating them on how to establish and maintain cyber security within their businesses.
What you can expect from the session:
- What do cyber attackers do and how successful are they?
- How a cyber attacker impacts a startup
- What steps you as a founder/CTO should take immediately
