Event description

Join us for a very special Teulo Lunch & Learn, where design, sustainability, and community regeneration come together.

Hosted by Häfele and Teulo, this intimate event features internationally renowned designer David Trubridge and the global launch of his newest portable light: Dusk.

Enjoy lunch and conversation with peers from across the design and construction industry, with MC DK guiding the session.

What to Expect

Keynote: Think Like a Tree
In his 20-minute talk on biophilic design, David Trubridge shares how we can learn from trees and forests to design healthier, more sustainable spaces. David will also discuss about leading vital regeneration work, including the Maraetōtara Tree Trust, Esk River planting projects, and Te Mata Peak Park restoration, and learn how you can get involved.

Think Like a Forest

This short film from Pure Advantage highlights the Recloaking Papatūānuku movement, an ambitious initiative to restore more than 2 million hectares of native forest and wetland in Aotearoa. Featuring Sam the Trap Man and local kaitiaki, it’s both an inspiration and a call to action.

Global Launch: The Dusk Lamp
Be among the first to experience Dusk, David’s most portable light yet, inspired by his collaboration with Pure Salt’s Tamatea Art Project in Fiordland. A new short documentary will showcase the story behind the design and the environmental partnership that shaped it. A portion of all sales will support Pure Salt’s conservation efforts in Dusky Sound.

Why Attend?

This Lunch & Learn is more than a product launch or film screening — it’s a chance to connect with the design community, hear from one of New Zealand’s most iconic designers, and explore practical steps toward a regenerative future.
