Event description

Peter Cullen Trust “Lunch with a Leader” events bring some of Australia’s most respected and influential people in the water and natural resources sector together with Fellows and Friends of the Trust, in small, intimate and trusted conversations under Chatham House rule.  Hosted by Fellows, lively and informal discussion is supported by a pleasant lunch, mineral water and coffee.

The next Perth Lunch for 2023 features Collene Castle, a proud, strong Menang Ngudju Noongar yok (woman) with kinship connections throughout the Noongar and Yamatji regions in WA. Collene has an excellent understanding of what’s needed on the ground to coach organisations through their reconciliation journey.  In January this year, Collene became the first First Nations person appointed to the Water Research Australia Board.

With broad experience in building Aboriginal Engagement and Employment Strategies, Collene is expert at identifying gaps and solutions in employer’s attraction, recruitment and retention processes with demonstrated successful outcomes.  Collene has many years of experience developing Reconciliation Action Plans. She is a member of the West Coast Eagles RAP committee along with her work on the National GHD RAP Committee.

Collene’s lifetime contribution to the national reconciliation agenda and enhancing Aboriginal prosperity was recently honoured at the 2022 NAIDOC awards, where she was awarded the 2022 WA NAIDOC Outstanding Achiever Award.

Places are limited so please register and pay to secure your spot.  Cost is $55 per person.
