Lunch with a Leader - Dr Sally Box
Description
Peter Cullen Trust “Lunch with a Leader” events bring some of Australia’s most respected and influential people in the water and natural resources sector together with Fellows and Friends of the Trust, in small, intimate and trusted conversations under Chatham House rule. Hosted by Fellows, lively and informal discussion is supported by a pleasant lunch, mineral water and coffee.
The first Canberra Lunch for 2024 features Dr Sally Box, Division Head, Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
Sally has worked on environmental and climate policy for many years. She entered the public service as a graduate in the Commonwealth environment department after completing her PhD in Plant Sciences at the ANU. Her exceptional leadership of the Australian Government’s environmental response to the 2019-20 bushfires as the Threatened Species Commissioner was recognised with a Public Service Medal in 2022.
Sally is well regarded as an experienced negotiator having led engagements at international climate forums. This includes supporting negotiations on the Paris Agreement and more recently as Head of the Australian Delegation to COP 28. Her success as a leader was recently recognised in her promotion to Division Head in the Australian Government Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
Sally’s career is all the more remarkable given she is mother of four teenage children.
Only 12 places are available, exclusively for Fellows and Friends of the Trust, so please register and pay to secure your spot. Cost is $66 per person.
To support a full and frank discussion, Chatham House rule will apply.
