Lunchtime Lectures: ACCELERATING THE ENERGY TRANSITION

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

The Curtin Institute for Energy Transition (CIET) brings together artists and writers, biologists and geologists, engineers and physicists, and philosophers and social scientists. CIET aims to be a thought leader on climate and energy technologies, offering scientific information to support a just and effective transition. Together we can learn from each other and look at energy in a new way.

For this Lunchtime Lecture, Professor Peta Ashworth (OAM) Director of the CIET will speak to her work at the CIET, and the roles artists can play in climate and energy technology research. Questions of sustainability, place and the environment underlie both exhibitions currently on show at John Curtin Gallery, which will provide important context for the lecture and discussion.

Professor Peta Ashworth (OAM) is a renowned expert in energy, communication, stakeholder engagement, and technology assessment. She has researched public attitudes towards climate and energy technologies, including wind, carbon capture and storage (CCS), solar photovoltaic, storage, geothermal and hydrogen, for almost two decades. An accomplished speaker and educator, she actively promotes energy literacy globally and contributes to policy briefings and educational events.
