Description
Experience the fierce and funny storytelling of M’ap Boulé – a play with re-enactments, original music and poetry about a child born of immigrants growing up in a country called Australia.
The charismatic Nancy Denis sets the stage ablaze with her journey to embrace her Black, Queer, Haitian and Australian identities. Stories framed by the pain and joy she carries from her self-liberated Ancestors who revolted against their colonisers and created the first black-led republic of Haiti.
Supported by Victoria Falconer, Kween G and more, M’ap Boulé – Haitian Creole for “I’m on fire” – is a celebration of culture, connection, resistance and spirit.

This event takes place in an intimate indoor theatre setting, creating a private and immersive experience. A paid bar will be available before and after the performance. Audience participation is encouraged, so come ready to engage with the work and its themes.

If you are travelling by car – All day parking is available on William Street. Limited all day parking is also available in the car park on the corner of Sydney and Howard Streets. Limited 2 & 3 hour parking is available on Howard, Sydney and Maud Streets. Old Ambo is an 8 minute walk from Nambour train station.
