Mind vs Brain: Is There More to Consciousness?

Is the mind just brain activity, or is there something more? 🤔
For our fourth seminar in our Exploring Meditation, Meaning and the Mind series, Andy Karr joins M3CS Member Kevin Berryman in conversation to explore what neuroscience and Buddhist philosophy say about the nature of the mind.
With over 50 years of Buddhist practice, Andy will discuss how our struggles are shaped by perception and attachment and how recognising this can lead to real freedom.

This conversation will explore:

Buddhist wisdom
Free will
The nature of knowing

Exploring Meditation, Meaning and the Mind:

This free monthly webinar series offers a deep dive into the realm of contemplative wisdom. Every first Thursday of the month (AEST/AEDT) at lunchtime, immerse yourself in discussions with a diverse panel of thinkers, meditators, researchers, and individuals from various wisdom traditions, discussing topics like mindful parenting, burnout, morality, and the impacts of technology on attention. These sessions, guided by Professor Craig Hassed, conclude with an interactive Q&A, giving you a unique opportunity to engage with the panelists. This series is an open invitation to explore the profound impact of contemplative practices and bridge the gap between ancient wisdom and the complexities of modern living.
