This time we gather for MABON, the Autumn Equinox, a time of completion, balance and preparation.

Summer is over, Winter is approaching and the cycle of the natural world is moving towards completion. Only twice a year are night and day of equal length and in perfect equilibrium - dark and light, masculine and feminine, inner and outer, in balance. The Sun's power is waning and from now on the nights grow longer and the days get shorter and cooler. We are returning to the dark from whence we came.

But before that, we party!

Mabon, (MAH-boon or MAH-bawn) also known as the Second Harvest, marks the end of the harvest season and is a time to give thanks for the bounty it has provided. Mabon is a celebration of life and death and the cycle of the seasons. It is a time to enjoy the fruits of a hard year’s labor and to stock up for the long winter.

It is a time to finish old business as we get ready for a period of rest, relaxation, and reflection. A time of closing, letting go and remembering. A time to give thanks for the things we have, and to reflect on the balance within our own lives, honoring both the darkness and the light.

We begin Mabon with Whaia, our Sonic Weaver from Aotearoa, who will bring her unique blend of Sacred Sonic Sounds while our priestesses serve you our special Elixir - Restore. As we deepen in ceremony, we invite the qualities and gentle power of the sacred plants, a holistic blend which invites us to connect deeper with our sensual yin energy so we may soften, reflect and restore as we make the transition from the light into the dark.

As we acknowledge the ending of Summer and the beginning of Autumn, you will be guided to set your intentions for this transition.

In this soft but expanded state, Patricia Silverwolf and DJ Mark Saṅkhāra will initiate the alchemical practice of Kundalini Dance, an ecstatic temple practice that allows us to consciously let go of what is no longer serving us and to support us to co-create our reality through elevated levels of consciousness and connectedness.

Our final act invites us to connect back to Mother Earth, returning to our breath and the healing vibration of sound as Whaia bathes us with her Crystal Singing Bowls and Divine Voice to close the evening.

Patricia is a Kundalini Dance Priestess, Munay-ki teacher, Master Shamanic Breathwork Facilitator, and a former Mental Health Nurse. An agent of transformation who is passionate about assisting people to find their inner healer so to remember their way back to wholeness and their life’s sacred purpose. Patricia loves to create a sacred container that allow her tribe to feel warm, secure and safe to fully express themselves authentically. Assisting them to awaken parts of self that they never knew existed, through breath work, dance, sound and complete expression of all that has been suppressed, whilst journeying alongside of them.

WHAIA (Sonic Weaver, AOTEAROA NZ)

For the past decade Whaia has been walking with an array of Crystal Singing Bowls, Taonga Puoro/Traditional First Nations Instruments and creating her own unique cradle of embedded healing phonics.

Celebrating her culture and connection to source, she activates an ancient primordial voice that will no doubt rumble your inner jungle, soothe your bones and shake loose that which can serve your awakening process.

Born in Hawkes Bay a Ngati Kahugnunu woman, she was raised in the outback desert on Yindjibarndi country in the Pilbara, far North Western Australia. The arid harsh beauty of the land and her Aboriginal grandmother shaping her story from the age of 6.

MARK_SANKHARA

Saṅkhāra is an ancient Buddhist term meaning formation, fabrication, the process of fashioning and the fashioned things that result. It is a term that could be used to describe the way the man himself works a crowd, ‘fashioning’ the atmosphere on dance floors into an irresistible and energetic experience, full of - but by no means limited to - alluring mid tempo, bass heavy, funk-induced, melodic pieces.

Sankhara’s sets consist of an infusion of many different genres and styles, focusing heavily on Tribal and World beats. His intention is not just to get you tapping your feet and nodding your head, but to have you dancing until your feet fall off and you’re no longer able to stand!

Sankhara is a NZ born Gold Coast based DJ who has played in various clubs, competitions, parties, weddings and conscious dance events in NZ and Australia over the past decade. He obtained a Diploma in Audio Engineering in 05/06 and has been playing guitar for over 20 years. He is also passionate about men's work and runs and facilitates mens workshops and is also a Spiral Practitioner.
