Macrame is a craft using knots and weaves to make beautiful homewares, clothing and more. Its origins are a bit unsure, some dating it back to the 13th century in Arabia using knot patterns to decorate textiles and others tracing it back to Babylonian times.

It's a very relaxing and fun hobby and can be done without expensive equipment.

In this class we'll learn basic knots while making a fun plant hanger We'll have lots of colours to choose from and the pattern has been designed with beginners in mind. You'll also learn how to incorporate beads into your macrame work.

Who will be Teaching?

Maria (she/her) is a serial crafter. She loves learning about new crafts and techniques! She does crochet, macrame, sewing, pottery, weaving and likes to explore how these crafts can be combined and expanded.

In addition to plants and crafting, she also has a passion for cooking and baking, light painting and running Laneway Learning. You can follow her journey at @malayebra
