Macro Policy Meeting
Description
Join academics, researchers from policy institutions and policy analysts at the University of Melbourne on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 October for the 2026 Melbourne Annual Macro Policy Meeting, a focused meeting to exchange the latest research, ideas and perspectives on macroeconomic issues and policy, with a particular focus on Australia.
The program features:
· Keynote addresses from Professor Jianjun Miao, Tsingshan Chair Professor of Economics at Zhejiang University, and Dr Michele Lenza, Head of the Monetary Policy Research Division at the European Central Bank.
· A policy panel on the macroeconomic implications of AI, bringing together senior representatives from the Australian Treasury, Productivity Commission, Reserve Bank of Australia and Motu Economic and Public Policy Research, alongside academic expertise.
· 16 research presentation spanning credit and financial markets, Australian policy, macro econometrics and firm heterogeneity.
· A conference dinner on Monday evening.
