Description

If you've ever felt shamed for your 'madness', we invite you to the Mad Soft Rage Room. Make collective mad art, pillow fight the patriarchy, enjoy a good (muffled) scream and channel your feelings into the space. The event will culminate in the evening with the smashing of a giant brain piñata.

Through writing, performance and playful participatory activities, we'll explore the frustrations of mental distress, stigma and society. Together, we'll transform our rage into creativity, connection and collective care.

The Mad Soft Rage Room is a welcoming, creative space designed to explore and express emotions that are often misunderstood or discouraged, particularly anger, frustration and resistance.

Held at Transmission Gallery, supported by The Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival, hosted by Centre for Mad Culture UK, and featuring artists Luke 'Luca' Cockayne, Lee-Ann Sheehy, Bel Pye and Stephanie Jade, the event brings together the community to celebrate Mad insight and creativity.

Content note: This event may include references to mental distress, psychiatric harm, coercion, sef-harm and suicide. Visitors are encouraged to be aware of their own trauma and triggers and to make organisers aware if they are feeling unwell. The event will have quieter areas of reflection as well as areas of activity and movement.

Transmission Gallery is over two levels, both of which are accessible via lift during the regular opening hours of Trongate 103. Outwith that time access is more restricted to the basement level. The toilet is wheelchair accessible.

We want this event to be as inclusive as possible. If price is an issue then free tickets are available by emailing hello@centreformadculture.uk

Please also email hello@centreformadculture.uk if you have any questions.

Come rage. Come create. Come connect.

Your anger is safe here.
