    Event description

The MADCOTA Roaming Brunch is a monthly event hosted by the MADCOTA Community Hub in Brooweena and other townships outside of the Maryborough city centre.

It’s a wonderful opportunity for people to connect with old friends or meet new ones in a safe and welcoming environment.  The event is supported by local organisations and volunteers, and it aims to foster community spirit and social interaction and inclusion.

MADCOTA Roaming Brunches feature different themes to keep things interesting and engaging for attendees. These themes can vary from month to month, offering a fresh experience each time. For example, past themes have included seasonal celebrations, cultural festivals, and special interest topics, and each theme is relevant to feedback received by residents in the host township.

Why are we doing this? Because we understand the frustrating barrier of the “invisible line” which many Senior Support and Information Services do not cross; and if they do the cost to the Senior Citizen is unsustainable. These “invisible lines” exist for services such as transport, social support and health services, in particular nurse at home services. Discovery conversations have concluded that the many Senior Citizens who reside in townships such as Howard feel like they exist in “no man’s land”, and although not forgotten, access to services is limited or prohibited.

To help alleviate this frustration we are bringing social support services to you!

So please join us to hear from a local issue Guest Speaker, enjoy a selection of delicious cakes and slices, accompanied by tea or coffee, all whilst catching up with friends and neighbours. You may even win a lucky door prize.

*Attendees are asked to make a gold coin donation upon entry. Raffle tickets may be sold at each event at a separate cost.
