Made to Give
Event description
Join us for a Printmaking Workshop that celebrates the Gift of Giving at the Ashburton Art Gallery and Museum.
As part of Mental Health Awareness Week 2025, this event celebrates one of the 5 Ways to Wellbeing - GIVE - and the joy and connection that comes from creating something for others.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll design and carve your own unique stamp, then use block printing techniques to create beautiful cards, gift tags, and wrapping paper.
Bring along an idea or an image for inspiration, and we’ll provide everything else — tools, materials, and guidance. Whether you’re a seasoned printmaker or a complete beginner, you’ll leave with:
A hand-carved, reusable stamp of your own design
A set of handmade gift cards and tags
A sheet of personalised gift wrap ready to share
Set aside a Saturday afternoon for yourself, to express your creativity, learn something new, connect with others and create beautiful things to give away. Aimed at adults and suitable also for teens, places are limited, so book on soon if you're keen! Tickets are $8 but if that cost prevents you from coming, please contact us for a free ticket.
Organised by the Ashburton Art Gallery and Keep Learning Mid Canterbury, the event is the last in a series for Mental Health Awareness Week. The others are:

Permission to Pause (Take Notice), Tuesday October 7 @ 7pm
