Event description

To celebrate three years of the Waddananggu ceremony - a reoccupation of Wangan and Jagalingou homelands in central Queenslan we are hosting three (‘Magarran’ representing the three stars in Orion's belt) big events and you are invited to join us!

After the record breaking attempt in King George Square  (Yidaki Magarran) we will take the vibrations to the streets on our journey to Musgrave park for the 3rd event which is a big BBQ with music, live bands, guest speakers and much more!

This event is free for anyone to attend, but we're also raising funds to support our ongoing presence on Country at Waddananggu in central Queensland. You can choose to contribute when you register for a ticket.

BBQ will kick off from 3pm, followed by yarns and a full line up of First Nations artists with the music flowing til 8pm.

Performers include: 

  • Keely - a proud Kabi Kabi/Gooreng Gooreng and South Sea Islander and storyteller exploring embodied vocal techniques and drawing inspiration from the sweet song of country.
  • Gurridyula Gaba Wunggu performing with the Yidaki/Didgeridoo.
