Event description

Young creatives aged 12-24 are invited to the first Magic Room project this April School Holidays! This workshop has a priority for young people who identify as having disability to ensure inclusion, but welcomes registrations from all eligible ages.

So what will we do? Anything is possible! With just a few raw materials to begin with, participants will consider a few materials to start with, and decide what work together to transform an empty studio space at the Inverell Art Gallery.

The week is in the hands of the participants, with guided support from facilitator Michèle Jedlicka.

From art, to sculpture, some mini drama performances, maybe a bit of music, some photography or film, the group will decide together what we'll do to transform a bare space into something magic in the five days of the project.

On Saturday, 20 April, we will invite family and friends of all the participants to come and have a look at what has been created!

We will have a budget, and with some planning, imagination, and ingenuity, Michèle will support the young participants to put their creative stamp on the space.

Facilitator Michèle Jedlicka has her BFA and MFA in visual arts, and works as a filmmaker, photographer, and writer. She has been working with teenagers, young and mature-aged adults with disability in Inverell in the visual and performing arts and has a passion for everybody to have access to the arts.
