Magpie Diaries + Tim Easton + Brea Burns - Bandon Grove Hall
Event description
The second full length album from Magpie Diaries has arrived.
‘Some Kind Of View’ is a very special album of ten songs. Each song carrying an incredible connection to the time and place in which this album was born.
Music soaked in thought and bound by respect to the many influences that have unassumingly informed the delivery of these songs, written by band leader Magpie Johnston, the person many would recognise as the force behind regional music venue Dashville.
Written and recorded onsite at Dashville in the Tractor Shed, throughout a generally uncertain time of 2020-23, the album reveals a mind hanging onto moments, struggling to comprehend the failures of the past and trying to navigate away from what could only be considered a bleak future.
But alongside all those worldly pressures, this album also represents the natural experience and beauty of Magpie and Jess, two hard working people committed to a fun and musical life together, becoming parents for the first time. Something which brought monumental light into their world at such a difficult time, painting hope and colour over the darker unknown.
With the new album now in the stratosphere, Dashville Community Records presents a number of special album shows, that will see Magpie Diaries perform the album in full, along with other choice cuts from their previous record Sanctuary, alongside a bunch of other talented mates in various beautiful locations.
