Event description

Mahika kai is a term that refers to the traditional practices and knowledge of gathering, cultivating, and utilising natural resources for food, medicine, and other cultural purposes. Mahika kai is a vital part of te ao Māori and is deeply connected to the land, waterways and ecosystems that sustain it. Michael McMillan of Arowhenua will be holding 30-minute workshops sharing his knowledge on mahika kai and sites of significance in the Arowhenua takiwā.

Multiple sessions available. 

Please take note of the session time you choose as you won't be able to change it on the day. Your session time will be at the top left corner of your ticket.

  1. Travel – please ensure that you travel to the conditions and ensure that you plan ahead to get there and home safely.
  2. Clothing – Please ensure that you have weather appropriate clothing
