Mahler Symphony 2: Resurrection
Event description
The Student Music Collective presents Mahler Symphony 2: Resurrection in collaboration with the Derwent Symphony Orchestra, Hobart Chamber Orchestra, Secret Orchestral Society, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, and Tasmanian Youth Orchestra. This event will feature soloists Grace Ovens (soprano) and Katharine Tier (mezzo-soprano) and will be conducted by Gary Wain, with Chorusmaster Madeleine Dyer. We're excited to welcome you to the first performance of this symphony in 15 years!Â
This concert is being dedicated to violinist Con Lavroff (1935 - 2024). It will run for around 1 hour 45 minutes.Â
This event will take place on the unceded lands of the Mouheneener people in nipaluna (Hobart).
